BGSU Volleyball Announces Team Awards

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team announced their team awards at an end-of-year dinner Sunday. The BGSU coaching staff, led by Danijela Tomic, handed out a variety of awards during the evening.
Sophomore outside hitter Jelena Sunjic was named the Team Most Valuable Player, as voted on by the players and coaches. Winning the award encompasses dedication to the team, putting teammates and coaches first, maximizing effort and on-court contributions. Sunjic was a first-team All-MAC player averaging 3.00 kills with a team-best .246 attack percentage.
The BG Warrior Award was presented to senior Kelsey Bates for exhibiting mental toughness on and off the court. Senior Erica Fullenkamp was named the Coaches Award winner for demonstrating leadership, team spirit, hard work, a positive attitude and inspiring others to perform better. Fullenkamp also earned the Pat Peterson Academic Award for exemplifying academic excellence with a 4.0 grade point average.
Sophomore Delaney Arkeilpane was the winner of the Falcon Award for exemplifying commitment, dedication and loyalty to the program. Sophomore Alyssa Maloney earned the Outstanding Community Award for performing 31.5 hours of community service. Sophomore Madeline Garda was named Most Improved after demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow as a player.
Carl and Kay Lipp received the Supporter of the Year award for going above and beyond for BGSU Volleyball, while volunteer assistant coach Andrew Rynd, senior associate athletics director Lesley Irvine and athletic trainer Sarah LaShier received Awards of Appreciation.
