Final Gina Relays Results
Final Ashland Alumni Open Results
Hillsdale, Mich. and Ashland, Ohio – Wet and cold conditions affected performances at the Gina Relays Saturday, hosted by Hillsdale College, as the Falcons closed out the weekend on the track. Bowling Green earned two runner-up finishes and two more third-place results. The Falcon throwers concluded a productive weekend at the Ashland Alumni Open, faring well in all events.
Â
The Falcons had 12 personal bests Thursday and Friday at Hillsdale but the weather turned on the final day of the meet and kept BGSU from picking up any personal bests. The Falcons did tie their season-best time in the 400 relay as Tiera Parker, Alicia Arnold, Kera Lamotte and Dorresha Green ran the event in 46.88 seconds.
Â
Parker also picked up a third place finish in the triple jump, leaping 38-feet-3.5. Teammate Kyla Paster went 37-9.25 for an eighth place result.
Â
Competing in the championship flight of the 200, Gabrielle Edwards finished second in 24.91 seconds. Kera Lamotte followed in sixth at 25.39 seconds. In the 400 championship flight, Taylor Rambo ran 56.13 to finish runner-up. In other top 10 results, Brianna Johnson was eighth in the 100 championship flight to go with a ninth-place effort in the 200 championship flight.
Â
At the Ashland Alumni Open, Kayla Velasquez set a season-best mark in the discus at 146-1 to win the open division championship. Makenzie Wheat placed second in the elite invitational flight of the shot put with a throw of 51-0, just off her season best. Kori Reiser was third in the invitational flight of the discus at 144-9 and Andrea Weirauch placed fourth in the javelin with a toss of 102-8.
Â
Bowling Green will close out the regular season Thursday and Friday at the Toledo Invitational. The Falcons will then compete in the MAC Championships the following weekend, also hosted by Toledo.
