Seimet Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team Honors

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green volleyball program's junior libero Kallie Seimet has been named to 2017 Academic All-District Second Team honors by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), announced Thursday.
A native of Oregon, Ohio, Seimet is a Health Science major who holds a 3.84 GPA entering her junior year. In her efforts of helping lead the Falcons to its first Mid-American Conference Regular Season title since 1992, Seimet has set numerous program records in the 2017 campaign including most digs in a match (45 at Miami, Sept. 21), most MAC Player of the Week awards by a single player in a single season (seven), and is currently first in the nation of all Division I women's volleyball with 725 total digs and a 6.78 digs per set average. Seimet was also recently recognized as 2017 MAC Player of the Year, MAC Defensive Player of the Year and to All-MAC First Team honors.
The 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Volleyball Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
The Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada, with Bowling Green State University landing in District 5 which includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools, and other affiliations.
The Bowling Green volleyball program will soon be traveling to Oxford, Ohio as it competes for the 2017 MAC Tournament title this weekend with the No. 2 seed and a double-bye into the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.
