Seimet Honored as MAC East Defensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – After marking a season-high number of digs against Notre Dame this past weekend, junior libero Kallie Seimet was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the East Division, announced Tuesday.
A native of Oregon, Ohio, Seimet led the Falcons in digs in both of its matches on the weekend, ultimately averaging 6.33 through six sets played. In addition tallying a total of 38 digs, Seimet was critical in the consistent defense for the Bowling Green squad by marking just one reception error on 29 attempts at the ball. In the dominate sweep of Southeastern Louisiana, Seimet was the lone Falcon to tally double-digit digs in the three sets, while her 26 digs against ACC powerhouse Notre Dame is a new season-high.
On the season, Seimet averages 6.06 digs per set, while the Defensive Player of the Week recognition is the first of her career.
