Craggs Named NCAA Men's Hockey First Star of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After an eight point week, sophomore forward Lukas Craggs was recognized as Men's Hockey First Star of the Week by the National Collegiate Hockey Association. The Elmhurst, Ill. native notched four goals and four assists in the Falcons four games played between Jan. 1 and Jan. 7.

Craggs began the week by leading the Falcons to its first Great Lakes Invitational title in school history after totaling five points on two goals and three assists in victories over Michigan and Michigan Tech. For his efforts in the GLI, Craggs was also recognized with Tournament MVP, All-Tournament Team, and WCHA Offensive Player of the Week honors.

The forward continued to carry his momentum into conference play as he posted a goal and an assist in a 6-3 win over Ferris State on Saturday, prior to netting a power play goal in a 3-0 shutout of the Bulldogs on Sunday. In addition to his eight points on the week, Craggs also registered 12 shots on goal and a plus-6 rating.

Craggs is currently riding a career-best four-game point streak, while his three-point performance vs. Michigan was also a career-high marker. On the season, the sophomore holds 14 points by seven goals and seven assists, already surpassing his freshman year total of 10 points.

The No. 14 Bowling Green hockey program will continue WCHA play this weekend as it travels to Marquette, Mich. to take on Northern Michigan Jan. 12-13 in 7:07 p.m. puck drops.
