MAC Features Three Falcon Athletes In MAC Volleyball Postseason Awards Honorees

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference released the list of 2018 MAC Volleyball Postseason Awards honorees.
Kallie Seimet is the first Falcon student-athlete to earn back-to-back MAC Volleyball Player of the Year since Tammy Schiller (1990, 1991). Seimet has also earned back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year honors, and a spot on the ALL-MAC First Team; she is the first player in conference history to win both Player of The Year and Defensive Player of The Year in successive seasons.
Seimet's 2018 highlights include reaching 2,000 career digs, and becoming the new all-time digs leader in BGSU History.
"I'm thankful for everything Kallie has done for our program these past four years," head coach Danijela Tomic. "The mark she will leave behind is so special and historic. I am grateful to be her coach and part of her amazing journey."
Freshman Katelyn Meyer also earned a spot in the 2018 MAC Volleyball All-MAC First Team. Meyer was also named to the 2018 MAC Volleyball All-Freshman Team. Meyer ended the MAC regular season as the Falcons' leader in kills with a total of 178 in conference play.
Katie Kidwell was also selected to feature on the 2018 MAC Volleyball All-MAC First Team. Kidwell is amongst the best 100 in several categories of the NCAA rankings. Kidwell sits at no. 86 in total blocks with 72, and no. 90 in blocks/set with an average of 1.22. During a weekend trip to Michigan, She posted a career high 14 block assists against Central Michigan, and was voted MAC Defensive Player of the Week, the following Monday.
"So proud of these three, and happy for their individual awards," Tomic said, "Moreover, I am so proud of our 15 amazing young women who work hard every day, embrace their roles, and who with Kallie, Katie and Katelyn make our team a championship team."
