Seimet And Kanagin Earn MAC Athlete Of The Week Honorees After Successful Weekend For Falcons Volleyball

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Libero Kallie Seimet and right side Celena Kanagin were selected as Defensive and Offensive Mid-American Conference Athletes of the Week.
The Falcons picked up sweep victories over Northern Illinois and Miami over the weekend to improve to 11-3 in conference play, and overtake the RedHawks for the number one spot in the MAC Standings. Saturday's victory over the Huskies marks the team's first win in the Convocation Center in over 12 years.
Seimet played a critical role in keeping the team afloat versus two tough opponents. The senior had no receive errors, and totaled 60 digs throughout both matches. Seimet ended an action packed weekend with an impressive digs per set average of 10. She continues to lead the NCAA in the total digs and digs per set category with 647 digs over a spread of 97 sets in the 2018 season.
Kanagin led the Falcons' offense over the weekend, averaging an average of .339 in hitting efficiency after posting 23 kills from 56 attack attempts versus Miami and Northern Illinois. Kanagin's highlights also include two digs and five total blocks, bringing her point total over the weekend to 25.5.
