Hockey's McLain Signs ATO with the Iowa Wild of the AHL

DES MOINES, Iowa – Bowling Green senior and 2017-18 team captain Mitch McLain has signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
A native of Baxter, Minn., McLain turns pro after completing four seasons at Bowling Green. In his four years with the Falcons, McLain recorded 101 points by 53 goals and 48 assists in addition to a plus-35 on the ice in his 161 collegiate games. The 6-foot, 196-pound forward served as captain in his senior campaign, and registered a career-high and team-leading 18 goals on the season. An All-WCHA Second Team selection his senior year, McLain was also honored as All-WCHA First Team and two-time WCHA Player of the Month in his junior campaign. His junior season also saw a career-high 16 assists and team-leading 33 points.
Prior to his time with the Bowling Green program, McLain spent two seasons with the Langley Rivermen of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), serving as captain both years. He registered 92 points by 38 goals and 54 assists in 111 appearances for the Rivermen, in addition to 12 points by five goals and seven assists in 14 playoff games.
