WALNY RAISES THE BAR

- Walny posted the top time in the Mid-American Conference this year and virtually clinched a bid to the NCAA East Region Preliminary Round with the time.
- Walny qualified for regionals in the same event a year ago by running a time of 34:02.57 at the same Mt. SAC Relays and then broke the school record again in 33:55.49 at the regional round to qualify for the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
- Entering the weekend, only 13 runners in the country had posted a better time than Walny's 33:48.22. Walny now has recorded the four fastest 10,000 times in school history.
THE PERSONAL BESTS CONTINUE IN COLUMBUS
- Senior Elizabeth Iversen earned a MAC automatic qualifying bid in the hammer throw by tossing a personal best 56.78m (186-feet-3) in the championship flight of the event. Teammate Aliyah Gustafson was just four inches better to place sixth at 56.89m (186-7).
- With the throw, Iversen moves into the top 10 in BGSU history in ninth place in the hammer throw.
- Senior Rachel Durbin moved her collegiate best forward in the 1500 with a time of 4:35.41 to place 10th overall in the event. The time is more than four seconds better than her previous PR.
