BGSU Wins Fifth Consecutive Match Against Buffalo In MAC Season Opener

Buffalo, N.Y. – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team begin their MAC season campaign with a win over the Buffalo Bulls in the Alumni Arena. Tonight's result marks the third instance in a row in which the Falcons win by a sweep. Coach Tomic's side improves to 7-7 overall, and 1-0 in conference.

COACH TOMIC QUOTE:
"We are very happy to open the MAC with a win on the road against a good Buffalo team. We executed the game plan and met all of our objectives. I am very pleased with the poise and maturity we showed tonight. We played one point at a time, and stayed calm throughout the whole match. We were disciplined defensively and efficient offensively. When you accomplish these things as a team, you will most likely get the result we got today."
HIGHLIGHTS
• Despite narrow margins in the set results, the Falcons were the dominant team throughout the match. The Falcons led 19-8 in the first set, 7-1 in the second, and forced the match to a close by claiming the third set 25-21.
• It was a battle between two talented setters, Bowling Green's Isabelle Marciniak, and Buffalo's Tia Gleason who was named MAC East Setter of the Week twice prior to tonight's match. In the end, Marciniak proved to be more efficient with 28 assists, four kills, and six digs. Gleason totaled 23 assists, one kill, and eight digs.
• The Bulls fell to the Falcons for a fifth consecutive time. The Bulls last victory over the Falcons took place on Nov. 6, 2015.
MATCH LEADERS
• Isabelle Marciniak contributed to the team's win as a playmaker, attacker and defender, ending the match with 28 assists, four kills, and six digs
• The Falcons' attacking efforts were spread evenly throughout the team. Isabel Kovacic led the team with nine kills, Jaqueline Askin followed closely with eight kills, while Madeline Brandewie and Katelyn Meyer both contributed seven kills.
• Kallie Seimet dug for the ball 21 times against the Bulls, bringing her season total to 308.
