>>FALCONS ON TAP
- The Bowling Green State University hockey team is set to begin their Western Collegiate Hockey Association schedule this weekend when they host the Huskies of Michigan Technological University.
- This will be the first two of four scheduled regular season meetings between the Falcons and Huskies. Bowling Green travels to Houghton, Michigan in January.
- Both of these contests will be held inside Slater Family Ice Arena this Friday (Oct. 25) and Saturday (Oct. 26) night, and are both scheduled for 7:07 PM puck drops.
>>VERSUS MICHIGAN TECH
- It's the Bowling Green Falcons versus the Michigan Tech Huskies. This has truly emerged as one of the greater rivalries in the WCHA since the realignment. All-time, Michigan Tech holds an 18-15-4 advantage over Bowling Green. The Falcons have gone 11-11-3 against the Huskies since joining the WCHA.
- This will be the first meeting between BGSU and MTU since last season's WCHA Playoff matchup, which was the fourth time they met in the post-season since Bowling Green joined the WCHA following the 2012-13 season.
- Last season Bowling Green bested Michigan Tech in three out of four games including a sweep of the Huskies in the first round of the WCHA Playoffs. The Falcons won the first game of the best-of-three series 3-2 (March 8, 2019) following a three goal comeback in the third period. BGSU then swept the series the next night by a final of 6-2 (March 9, 2019). Prior to the playoffs, the Falcons and Huskies split the regular season series by final scores of 2-0 MTU (Jan. 11, 2019) and 3-2 (Jan. 12, 2019).
 >>LAST TIME OUT
- Bowling Green enters this weekend's series having swept No. 18 (then No. 14) Western Michigan this past weekend. BGSU defeated WMU at home in Slater Family Ice Arena on Friday (Oct. 18) night by a final score of 2-1. The first period remained scoreless with many scrums after the whistle throughout the game. Frederic Letourneau found the back of the net on a power play deflecting in through the five hole late in the second period. Western tied the game late in the third period before Max Johnson recorded the game-winning goal on the power play.
- The Falcons then swept the Broncos on Saturday (Oct. 19) night in Kalamazoo winning the game in overtime by a final score of 2-1. Western Michigan scored first in the contest early in the second period before Alec Rauhauser answered for the Falcons about ten minutes later. The game remained tied at one through regulation. Cameron Wright found the back of the net for Bowling Green just 11 seconds into overtime to put away the Broncos. This was the final game of three in a row Bowling Green played against WMU.
>>STATISTICAL STANDOUTS
- Cameron Wright tallied the game-winning goal 11 seconds into overtime this past Saturday (Oct. 19) night in BGSU's sweep of Western Michigan. This was his fifth goal of the season. Wright's five goals have him tied for third nationally in goals.
- Senior captain Alec Rauhauser leads the Falcons in scoring with six points on the young season with two goals and four assists. His six points are tied for second place in the WCHA in total points.
- Max Johnson tallied his first goal of the season in Friday's (Oct. 18) home opener lifting the Falcons over the Broncos with the game-winning power play goal. A season ago he was tied for the team lead in power play scoring with Connor Ford at 10 total. This was also the first time this season he recorded multiple points in a game. Meanwhile, Connor Ford tallied a duo of assists in Saturday's (Oct. 19) victory recording his second multi-point game of the season so far.
 >>DOP DON'T STOP
- BGSU junior goaltender Eric Dop had arguably the best weekend of his career with the Orange and Brown in their sweep of Western Michigan. The Lewis Center, Ohio native allowed just one goal per game in the two victories. Between the two wins, he was 58 for 60 posting a goals-against-average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .967. Dop's 37 saves on Saturday (Oct. 19) night is his season high so far on the young 2019-20 campaign. His Saturday save total equals the WCHA season-best this year and tied for fourth nationally for a single game on the weekend.
- Eric Dop's performance earned him WCHA Goaltender of the Week honors (Oct. 21). He earns Bowling Green's first WCHA weekly award of the season. This is Eric Dop's second career Goaltender of the Week honor and his sixth career weekly award. He was honored as the Rookie of the Week four times in 2017-18.
>>NATIONALLY RANKED
- Bowling Green is back in the USCHO poll top-20 this week at No. 17. This following a one week absence from the poll, and sweep of then No. 14 Western Michigan.
