Falcons, Stroh Center Set To Host MAC Volleyball Tournament Beginning Thursday

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University volleyball program will play host to the MAC Volleyball Tournament this week, beginning on Thursday afternoon and lasting through the championship on Sunday, being played at 4:30. The Falcons first match will take place on Friday with a 7 p.m. first serve with the opponent to be determined based on the winner of the Akron/Buffalo match taking place on Thursday at 7 p.m. A full breakdown of the schedule can be seen below.

Thursday, November 21 (Round 1)
No. 5 Ohio v. No. 8 Kent State - 4:30 p.m.
No. 6 Akron v. No. 7 Buffalo - 7:00 p.m.

Friday, November 22 (Round 2)
No. 4 Ball State v. Ohio/Kent State - 4:30 p.m.
No. 3 Bowling Green v. Akron/Buffalo - 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 23 (Semifinals)
No. 1 Miami v. Winner of the Ball State match - 4:30 p.m.
No. 2 Central Michigan v. Winner of the Bowling Green match - 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 24 (Finals)
MAC Championship - 4:30 p.m.

All games in the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+ with live stats and other links available on both the MAC website (getsomemaction.com) and BGSU's volleyball schedule (bgsufalcons.com).

This will be the 28th time in program history that the Falcons will appear in the tournament and extend a streak of four straight appearances that began in 2016. BGSU's longest streak of appearances lasted 11 years, spanning from 2003-2013, including a 2012 MAC Championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament, coming with a five-set come-from-behind victory over Northern Illinois in the championship match.

In the history of the program, the Falcons have competed in the championship match on seven occasions, including four of five years from 1989-1993, which featured a championship sweep over Miami to close the 1991 conference campaign. As Bowling Green prepares to play host, over the history of the program the Orange and Brown have played a tournament match at home nine times. In those nine matches, BGSU holds a 6-3 record.
