UP NEXT FOR THE FALCONS...
• The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team hits the road once again this weekend, continuing a season-long stretch of eight consecutive games away from home. Head coach Robyn Fralick and the Falcons face Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 14), with tipoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. locally (2:00 p.m. ET) at the Klotsche Center.
• Following Saturday's action in Milwaukee, the Brown and Orange will head to the Windy City for a Monday (Dec. 16) matinee with Loyola University Chicago. That game is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. local time (1:00 p.m. ET) at Gentile Arena.
• This weekend's games are the sixth and seventh, respectively, in that stretch of eight consecutive contests away from home. BG's last home game was played on Nov. 18, and the Falcons will not play at the Stroh Center again until Dec. 30.
• The eight-game stretch begins and ends with games in the state of Indiana, and BG also plays contests in Illinois, West Virginia, Wisconsin and north of the border in British Columbia during that time.
THE OPENING TIP
• All five BGSU starters scored in double digits in the Falcons' last game, Saturday's (Dec. 7) 82-69 win at Marshall. It marked the first time BG had five double-digit scorers in a game this season, and the first time since the Falcons' 78-72 win over Buffalo last Feb. 13.
• BGSU had not seen all five starters hit double digits in over six years, since a 77-58 win over Old Dominion in Columbus on Nov. 23, 2013.
THE STARTING FIVE (FIVE FASCINATING FALCON FACTS)
• Junior Angela Perry was named the MAC Player of the Week on Tuesday (Dec. 10), after scoring a game-high 25 points on 11-of-13 shooting in the win at Marshall. Perry has scored 61 points (30.5 ppg) over her last two games, and has made 27 of her 35 field goal attempts (77.1%) in that time.
• Perry is shooting 72.6% from the field this season, having made 53 field goals in 73 attempts. She currently leads the MAC and is ranked third in the nation in FG pct.
• Another BG junior, Madisen Parker, hit back-to-back three-pointers in the fourth quarter on Saturday, extending BGSU's lead to double digits after Marshall had cut the margin to four points. Parker, who was 4-for-5 from long range vs. the Thundering Herd, has made 32 triples this season to date. She is tied for second in the nation in three-pointers per game (4.00), and she ranks third in the country in total three-point field goals made and seventh in three-point FG pct.
• BGSU has shot better than 50% from the floor in the last two games, with a 58.5% success rate vs. California Baptist and a 56.9% mark at Marshall. In the MU contest, the Falcons' five starters went 26-for-40 (65.0%) from the floor, and all five made at least one three-pointer.
• Fourth-year Falcon Caterrion Thompson had 10 points against the Herd, her eighth double-figure scoring effort in as many games. Thompson is the first Falcon in 13 years – and only the fifth in the last 26 seasons – to start the season with eight or more double-digit scoring games.
A QUICK LOOK AT THE PANTHERS
• Milwaukee is 3-6 on the year, and the Panthers' last game was a 78-56 loss to Marquette on Sunday (Dec. 8). That marked the first setback in four home games for MKE this season to date.
• Milwaukee is 3-1 at home and 0-5 on the road this season to date. Sydney Staver leads the team in scoring, with 8.7 points per game. A total of seven different players are averaging at least six points per contest.
• Head coach Kyle Rechlicz welcomed back 13 letterwinners, including four starters, from a year ago. The 2018-19 edition of the Panthers went 15-15 overall and 10-8 in the Horizon League.
THE SERIES
• The Falcons lead Milwaukee, 4-2, in the all-time series, and BGSU has won the last two matchups. The last meeting came just over five years ago, as the Falcons posted a 60-50, come-from-behind win in Milwaukee. The teams met twice in the early '90s, twice at the turn of the century and in December of 2013 prior to the last meeting, in late November of '14. The Falcons are 2-1 at home and 2-1 on the road vs. the Panthers through the years.
DOWN THE ROAD
• Following the Milwaukee matchup, the Falcons head to Chicago for a Monday (Dec. 16) matinee vs. Loyola University Chicago. Then, BGSU closes the pre-Christmas schedule with a game at Purdue on Saturday, Dec. 21. The Falcons' next home game is on Monday, Dec. 30, vs. Davis & Elkins.
