Rauhauser Named WCHA Defenseman Of The Month For Second Time This Season
December 04, 2019 | Ice Hockey
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) announced the recipients of the November Players of the Month Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 4). Of those named, senior captain Alec Rauhauser was recognized as the Defenseman of the Month, marking the second consecutive mark that he has earned the award. In the month of November, Rauhauser tallied seven points, including four goals, to move his career total to 101, becoming the first Falcon since 2018 to have 100 points and just the 13th true defenseman, and first since 1997, to hit the mark in program history.Â

The native of Bismarck, N.D. began the month with a three game goal streak, scoring in both games against Minnesota State and then again against Alaska Anchorage. In the second game against the Mavericks, Rauhauser's score was an unassisted short-hand goal. Over the course of the month, Rauhauser tallied at least one point in six of the eight games, including a multiple point effort in the win over then No. 2 Minnesota State to begin the month on Nov. 1. To close out the month, Rauhauser was +4 over the series sweep against then No. 5 Notre Dame, including being +3 during the 5-2 win on Friday (Nov. 29) at Notre Dame.Â
This is Rauhauser's six career Defenseman of the Month honor, and second of the season, having now claimed the award in October and November.Â
The Falcons will return to the ice this coming weekend, hosting Alabama Huntsville both Friday (Dec. 6) and Saturday (Dec. 7). Both games are set for 7:07 p.m. puck drops at Slater Family Ice Arena with Saturday's game also being Star Wars Night. A full release detailing the series can be found HERE.Â
