
Tennis Traveling To Steel City Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's tennis team will be back on the road this Saturday (Feb. 16) when they travel to Pittsburgh to face the Panthers. First serve is currently set for 3 p.m. in Pittsburgh. BGSU will enter play with a 4-3 record, after going 2-1 this past weekend.
Taking Flight
The Falcons will be carrying with them strong momentum going into this weekend. The Orange and Brown have won three of their last four matches, including a sweep 7-0 over Indiana Tech on Feb. 2. Of the four wins this season, Bowling Green has allowed more than one point just once, beating Cleveland State 4-3. The Falcons' other wins have come against Bellarmine University, 7-0, and Saint Louis University, 6-1.
Playing the Panthers
Pittsburgh will enter Saturday with a 3-4 record on the season. Thus far, the Panthers have gone back and forth between wins and losses, never accumulating back-to-back wins or losses. When on the losing end, Pittsburgh has failed to score more than two points. Pittsburgh hosted the Falcons last season as well, with BGSU coming up short, losing 5-2.
Common Ground
The Falcons and Panthers have a few opponents from this season in common, having both faced Louisville and Notre Dame. Against Louisville, the Falcons lost 5-2, while the Panthers lost 7-0. As for Notre Dame, BGSU lost 7-0 and Pitt lost 6-1. The Panthers also faced Akron this season, winning 4-3, a team that Bowling Green will face later this season on March 24.
