Falcon Hockey Alumnus Mark Friedman Called Up To Philadelphia Flyers

PHILADELPHIA, Pa – Bowling Green Falcon hockey alumnus Mark Friedman has been called up to the Philadelphia Flyers from their affiliate the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, the Flyers announced Friday. The 23-year-old native of Toronto, Ontario has appeared in 71 games this season for Lehigh Valley posting five goals and 19 assists for 24 points with all four categories a career high from his rookie season.
Signed as an unrestricted free agent on March 21, 2017, Friedman has appeared in 137 games for the Phantoms over a game and two seasons. He has tallied 41 points (7-34=41), a plus-18 rating and 79 penalty minutes. Friedman will wear jersey #59 and be available for the Flyers-Hurricanes game on Saturday April 6, at the Wells Fargo Center (7:00 PM).
In his three seasons with the Falcon Hockey program, Mark Friedman recorded 68 points (16g-52a) in 121 games with a career plus-minus of plus-21. He was named to the All-WCHA First Team in 2015-16, and was named to the WCHA All-Rookie Team in 2014-15.
