Indrova, Marciniak Awarded MAC East Player Of The Week Honors

Cleveland, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced Monday (Sept. 9) evening the MAC Honors for volleyball for the past week of competition. Of those named, Bowling Green claimed two of the three East Division recognitions with freshman Petra Indrova being named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week and senior Isabelle Marciniak being named MAC East Setter of the Week. This comes after the Falcons completed a 3-0 weekend as they hosted Butler, Charlotte and Cleveland State at the Hampton Inn Bowling Green Invitational.Â

A freshman, Indrova was named to the All-Tournament Team following the Hampton Inn Bowling Green Invitational, posting 42 kills over the three matches, including the first 20-kill match by a Falcon this season, coming against Cleveland State with 22. Indrova logged her first career double-double in the match with Cleveland State, adding 14 digs to the 22 kills.Â
Senior Isabelle Marciniak had a historic weekend for the Falcons, surpassing 3,000 career assists, now with 3,008, becoming the sixth player in program history to reach the milestone, while also being named the MVP of the Hampton Inn Bowling Green Invitational. Marciniak utilized an average of just over 40 assists a match over the weekend, totaling 121, to reach the mark. She is now just 111 from moving into the fifth spot all-time, trailing Amber Mareski with a total of 3,119.
The Orange and Brown will return to action on Tuesday (Sept. 10), traveling to Rochester, Mich. to face Oakland University. Bowling Green currently stands with a 4-2 record with Oakland also holding a 4-2 season standing. The match is set to begin at 6 p.m.
