SETTING THE SCENE...
• The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team hits the road this weekend, heading to Mount Pleasant to take on Mid-American Conference-leading Central Michigan University. Head coach Robyn Fralick and the Falcons face the Chippewas on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 15), in a 1:00 p.m. matchup at McGuirk Arena.

THE STARTING FIVE (FIVE MILDLY FASCINATING FALCON FACTS)
• The CMU game is the third of four-straight games vs. MAC West Division foes, and BGSU is in the midst of a stretch of three consecutive contests vs. the league's Michigan schools. Following Wednesday's (Feb. 19) game at Western Michigan, the Falcons end the regular season with five games vs. fellow East Division opponents.
• The Falcons and Chippewas are the top-two scoring teams in the MAC, and in fact, BGSU and CMU are ranked 1-2 in the conference in three categories. Central Michigan leads the league with 78.0 points per game and a field-goal percentage of 46.0. The Falcons are shooting .452 from the field and scoring 72.9 ppg to rank second in the league in both. BG leads the 12-team loop in three-point FG pct., hitting shots from beyond the arc at a 37.1% rate, while CMU is second at 35.6%.
• The Chippewas are receiving votes in the USA Today Sports/WBCA NCAA Division I Top 25 Coaches poll. CMU earned four votes in this week's poll.
• Junior Angela Perry went 7-for-8 from the field in Wednesday's Eastern Michigan game, moving her seasonal field-goal rate back over 60 percent. Perry is shooting 60.5% from the floor entering the CMU game. She leads the MAC and is ranked ninth in the country in that category.
• Last Saturday's Northern Illinois game was the Falcons' fourth overtime game of the year, a new school record. BGSU had played three OT games on four previous occasions – 1981-82 (1-2), 1991-92 (0-3), 2008-09 (3-0) and 2016-17 (1-2). For the Falcons, this year marks only the second time that three MAC regular-season games have required extra time (2008-09).

A QUICK LOOK AT THE CHIPPEWAS
• Central Michigan is 18-4 overall, and the Chippewas have a perfect 11-0 record in MAC play. After beginning the season with three-straight losses, Central has won 18 of the last 19 games. Most recently, the Chippewas picked up a 99-87 win at Miami last weekend before enjoying a midweek bye.
• CMU is 9-1 at home and 9-3 on the road this year to date. In MAC action, the Chippewas are 5-0 in Mount Pleasant and 6-0 in allegedly hostile venues.
• Micaela Kelly leads the team, and the MAC, in scoring. Kelly has 22.4 ppg, and she is tied for the league lead in assists, with 4.7. Molly Davis and Kyra Bussell have 13.9 and 13.7 ppg, respectively, with Bussell pulling down a team-high 7.2 rpg.
• Heather Oesterle, in her first season as head coach but her 10th on the CMU staff, welcomed back seven letterwinners, including three starters, from last year's team. The 2018-19 Chippewas finished with records of 25-8 overall and 15-3 in the MAC, and CMU captured the West Division title.
THE SERIES
• The Falcons lead Central Michigan, 47-21, in the all-time series, but the Chippewas have captured the last five meetings, including emphatic victories in each of the last two matchups. Last season, Central drubbed the Falcons by a 92-54 score at the Stroh (Feb. 20, 2019). That came 13 months after the Chippewas had won by a nearly identical score (90-54) in the most recent meeting at McGuirk (Jan. 10, 2018). BGSU's last series win came on Feb. 19, 2014, a 67-55 victory in a battle of MAC divisional leaders at the Stroh. BGSU is 25-7 in home games, 18-10 on the road and 4-4 in neutral-site contests vs. the Chippewas over the years.
DOWN THE ROAD
• Following the CMU kerfuffle, the Falcons will wrap up MAC cross-divisional play with a Wednesday (Feb. 19) game against Western Michigan in Kalamazoo.
• Then, the Orange and Brown will end the month of February with three-straight home games, hosting Buffalo (Feb. 22), Ohio (Feb. 26) and Kent State (Feb. 29) in that time.
