BIG DAY FROM ROSS
- Iyanna Ross broke the school record in the 400, a mark that had stood for five years, when she ran the event in 55.39 seconds Saturday. She placed third overall in the gold division (invite field) of the race.
- Ross' time was just better than the previous school record of 55.46 seconds, set by Brittany Sinclair, in 2015. Just two weeks ago, Ross broke into the top five in school history with a time of 55.94 seconds to place fourth.
- Ross then anchored the 1600 relay squad with an Akron Invite winning time of 3:46.61. Along with Ryen Draper, Savannah Nevels and Jazzlyn Gaiters, the team was about one second shy of the school record time of 3:45.49. That mark was established just a year ago and Draper, Nevels and Ross were all part of that team.
