ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team opened its series at Saint Louis on Friday (March 6) with a 10-5 loss. The three-game series is being played at the Billiken Sports Center. The Falcons drop to 1-9 on the season with the loss.
Bowling Green got on the board first with a solo home run from Ryan Johnston in the second. That would be BGSU's only lead of the day, however. Saint Louis regained the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second. The Billikens went on to break the game open with a three-run fourth and four-run sixth.
Jake Wilson led the Falcons at the plate with a monster effort. Wilson went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and a double. Adam Furnas went 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Mike Malewitz and Johnston recorded BGSU's other hits on the afternoon.
The Falcons were out-hit on the day, 11-8. Max Carevic worked 2.0 scoreless innings out of the bullpen, surrendering just one hit. The ballgame lasted 2:42.
