Dop, Meyer Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Medical Mutual Athletes of the Week, as selected by the strategic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Eric Dop and volleyball player Katelyn Meyer.
Male Athlete of the Week
Eric Dop, a senior from Lewis Center, Ohio, started both games for the Falcons in net against Bemidji State this past weekend and made a total of 65 saves. Dop began with 36 saves in Thursday's game (Jan. 21), tying his season-high and being just one off of his career-high. He was then able to make 29 saves in Friday's contest (Jan. 22) to conclude the series.
Female Athlete of the Week
Katelyn Meyer, a junior from Pemberville, Ohio, led the Falcons in both matches this past weekend against Northern Illinois for kills, beginning with 20 in Friday's (Jan. 22) five-set match before landing 19 in Saturday's (Jan. 23) sweep. Over the two matches, Meyer maintained a .316 hitting percentage, including a mark of .474 during Saturday's match. In addition to the kills, Meyer also had six digs and a block assist against Northern Illinois.
