Swankler Named CCHA Rookie Of The Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Central Collegiate Hockey Association has recognized four student-athletes as its Players of the Week for the games of Nov. 5-6. Bowling Green's Austen Swankler was named CCHA Rookie of the Week following a weekend that saw the Falcons sweep St. Thomas. Swankler, the CCHA Preseason Rookie of the Year, has been recognized as a Player of the Week twice this season.
CCHA Rookie of the Week: Austen Swankler, Fr., Bowling Green
Austen Swankler scored a goal in both of Bowling Green's games this weekend, helping the Falcons sweep St. Thomas. On Friday, Swankler scored BGSU's first goal, a power play score just two minutes into the second period. The Falcons went on to win the series opener, 4-2. On Saturday, Swankler earned an assist on Alex Barber's power play goal in the first period. Swankler lit the lamp for Bowling Green in the final period, scoring his fifth goal of the season to clinch a 3-0 Falcon victory.

The Falcons will head to Mankato next weekend for a series against No. 3 Minnesota State. Puck drop is at 8:07 p.m. ET on Friday and 7:07 p.m. ET on Saturday.
