BGSU HOSTS FALCONS IN NON-CONFERENCE ACTION ON SUNDAY
• The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team wraps up the home portion of the non-conference schedule this weekend. Head coach Robyn Fralick and the Falcons, the defending Mid-American Conference regular-season champions, will host the Falcons of Notre Dame College on Sunday (Dec. 12), with tipoff set for 2:00 p.m. at the Stroh Center.
• Following Sunday's matchup, the (BGSU) Falcons will be idle for over a week, and will conclude the non-league slate with a pair of games in Las Vegas (Dec. 20-21).
DISCOUNT DAY
• Sunday is Discount Day at the Stroh, with tickets (prior to the game), parking and selected concessions items all available for just one dollar ($1).
FOLLOW THE FALCONS
• There are multiple ways to keep up with the Falcons this season...
• TV/VIDEO: All but one of BGSU's home games, as well as many road contests, will be streamed via ESPN3 or ESPN+. Unfortunately, Sunday's game vs. NDC is the lone exception, and will not be streamed.
• RADIO/AUDIO: All BGSU home games and selected road games will have an audio stream thanks to the Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization (BGRSO).

THE OPENING TIP
• The Falcons are 2-4 on the young season, with a 2-1 mark inside the Stroh Center. After losing a pair of games by a combined six points in the Navy Classic (Nov. 27-28), the Orange and Brown returned home for the first time in three weeks and picked up a 69-53 win over Valparaiso on Sunday (Dec. 5).
• The Falcons posted a 32-point win over East Tennessee State in the season opener, before dropping a 71-60 decision against Horizon League favorite IUPUI (Nov. 14) and a 94-63 result on the road against #21/25 Ohio State. Then, BGSU fell in a pair of narrow contests at the Navy Classic, against George Mason (77-75 in overtime; Nov. 27) and Liberty (76-72; Nov. 28).
• Head coach Robyn Fralick, in her fourth season at the helm of the Falcons, returned 10 players off of last year's BGSU roster.
• The Falcons, after going 10-21 overall and 3-15 in the MAC two years ago, were picked to finish 11th in the 12-team league in 2020-21, according to the preseason coaches' poll. BG proceeded to post a 14-4 MAC record to win the regular-season crown. Then, the Orange and Brown defeated Eastern Michigan and Buffalo in the MAC Tournament in Cleveland, before falling to Central Michigan in the championship game.
• BGSU advanced to the WNIT, and the Falcons finished with an overall record of 21-8. BG tied for the second-best turnaround in the nation, with an improvement of +12.0 games.
• This season, the Falcons were picked to finish second in the MAC in the preseason coaches' poll.
• Notre Dame had a 5-4 record, including a 4-1 Mountain East Conference mark, heading into a Saturday (Dec. 11) game at West Virginia Wesleyan.
SHARPS-SHOOTING FALCON
• Morgan Sharps went 5-of-7 from three-point range in the win over Valparaiso, tying for game honors with 17 points. She is averaging 3.33 successful three-pointers per game, tying her for first in the MAC and 11th in the nation.
• Sharps, a transfer from Xavier, is shooting 51.3% from long distance on the year, ranking second in the conference and 12th in the country in long-range accuracy.
YOU CAN'T SPELL "HAMPTON AMONG THE NATION'S LEADERS" WITHOUT "HAMPTON"
• Nyla Hampton had 56 steals in 24 games last season, finishing third on the team in overall steals and second on the Falcons in steals per game (2.3).
• Through six games this season, Hampton has 25 steals, an average of 4.19 per game. She leads the MAC in both categories by a wide margin.
• Hampton currently ranks fourth in the entire nation in steals per game, while ranking 26th in total steals.
• The sophomore has had three games with five steals or more, and had 11 (5.5 per game) in the Falcons' two contests in Annapolis.
• For her career, Hampton is averaging 2.7 steals per game, with 81 in 30 career contests in the Orange and Brown.
BRETT'S BACK
• After missing the preseason and the first three games of the year due to injury, junior Elissa Brett returned to the floor for the Navy Classic. She made her 2021-22 debut in the George Mason contest, and had four points and four rebounds in 17 minutes of action off the bench.
• The next day, Brett made her first start of the year against Liberty, and led the Falcons and tied for game honors with 17 points on the day. She also had five boards, two assists and a steal.Â
• The Adelaide, Australia native is averaging 9.0 points per game in her BGSU career, and has averaged 11.9 ppg since the beginning of the 2020-21 season.
WELCOME!
• Each of BGSU's four 2021-22 newcomers have made an immediate impact on the court. Freshmen. Zoe Miller and Amy Velasco were in the starting lineup for the season opener, and have started five and four games, respectively. Classmate Jocelyn Tate and sophomore Morgan Sharps have been two of the Falcons' top players off the bench.
• Currently, Sharps and Miller rank 1-2 on the team in scoring. Sharps has 14.0 points per outing, with Miller at 10.5 ppg.
GREETINGS!
• BGSU's four newcomers combined for 40 points and 23 rebounds in the season opener vs. ETSU. and 42 points and 14 boards three days later against IUPUI.
• In the latter game, the quartet combined for 42 of the Falcons' 60 points. And, that group had a combined 41 of BG's 63 points at Ohio State.
• Through six games, BGSU's four newcomers have combined to average 38.2 points per game, with Sharps and Miller ranking 1-2 on the team in scoring. The quartet has combined to score at least 32 points in each of the six contests.
• Sharps has scored in double digits a team-leading five times this season, while Miller has four double-figure games to date. Velasco had a career-high 17 points to tie Sharps for game honors in the win over Valpo.
• The four newcomers have combined for 13 of the Falcons' 18 individual double-figure outputs this season to date.

• Everyone in attendance at BGSU home games is required to wear a mask which covers the nose and mouth throughout their entire time inside the Stroh Center, except when actively eating or drinking, regardless of vaccination status. This includes fans and media (including radio, TV and web-stream broadcasters).
• If spectators are unwilling to wear masks, they are encouraged not to attend games in person for the sake of their health and the health of others. A QUICK LOOK AT THE (NDC) FALCONS
• Notre Dame College enters the weekend with an overall record of 5-4, and the Falcons are 4-1 in the Mountain East Conference, heading into a Saturday afternoon game at West Virginia Wesleyan. NDC has won two-straight games, having downed Concord as well as Davis & Elkins.
• Alana Ellis is averaging 16.8 points per game to date, pacing four double-digit scorers on the Falcons, while Jen Oduho has 14.4 ppg. Tamia Ridley has pulled down 12.6 rebounds per contest. Imani Gordon is in her first season as head coach after helping NDC to a 78-32 record as an assistant over the previous four seasons. Last year, the Falcons went 14-4 overall and 13-3 in MEC play.
THE SERIES
• The Falcons lead NDC, 1-0, in the all-time series. BGSU picked up an 88-54 win in the only previous meeting, two seasons ago (Nov. 11, 2019) at the Stroh. To underscore the overall youth of the current BGSU club, only three players on the 2021-22 roster – Elissa Brett, Kadie Hempfling and Madisen Parker – saw action in that game.
DOWN THE ROAD
• Following the NDC, BGSU will head to Nevada for the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic, facing Campbell (Dec. 20) and UT Martin (Dec. 21) on that trip.
