Connor Ford Earns WCHA Forward Of The Week Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced the players of the Week on Monday (March 1). Of those named, Connor Ford received recognition from the conference for being the WCHA Forward of the Week. This is Ford's third time being named in his career, two of which have come during this season.Â

Over the last week, Ford tallied four points for the Falcons as Bowling Green captured a sweep over Alabama Huntsville to close out the regular season. Ford began the series on Wednesday (Feb. 24) with two goals, scoring the first and last of the game. Being a 5-0 win for the Orange and Brown, Ford's first goal went down as the game-winner. As for the second game, being played on Sunday (Feb. 28), Ford added another two goals with both coming in the third period. His first goal came on the power play and tied it up while his second was an empty-netter to secure the win for the Falcons.Â
The Falcons' next series will be at home with the opponent yet to be determined. The WCHA Tournament is next on the schedule, taking place on March 12-14, with the final week of conference games being played this week. Stay tuned for updates on BGSUFalcons.com and on Twitter at @BGFalconHockey.
