• The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team looks to take the court for the first time in a week and a half. The Falcons, the defending Mid-American Conference regular-season champions, will face Central Michigan University on Wednesday evening (Jan. 19), with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Stroh Center.

• TV/VIDEO: Wednesday's CMU matchup will be streamed via ESPN+. All of the Falcons' MAC contests, both home and away, are scheduled to be on either ESPN3 or ESPN+.

MASK UP!
• EVERYONE in attendance at BGSU home games is required to wear a mask which covers the nose and mouth throughout their entire time inside the Stroh Center, except when actively eating or drinking, regardless of vaccination status. This includes fans, media (including radio, TV and web-stream broadcasters) and staff.
• If individuals are unwilling to wear masks, they are encouraged not to attend games in person for the sake of their health and the health of others. Additionally, fans and media should stay home if feeling ill, showing any symptoms of COVID-19, or think they may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
THE OPENING TIP – STREAKS, STORYLINES AND SIDEBARS
• The Falcons are 6-6 on the season, and BGSU is 1-2 in MAC action. BG saw a five-game winning streak come to an end with an 82-66 loss to Buffalo (Jan. 5), and the Orange and Brown fell at Akron, 79-69, three days later (Jan. 8).
• The Falcons went a perfect 4-0 in the month of December after losing the last two November games by a combined six points, and BG began January with a 24-point win (82-58) over Ball State in New Year's Day's MAC opener at the Stroh.
• Several postponed games have been rescheduled by the MAC office, including...
• BGSU at Eastern Michigan – from Wed., Dec. 29 to Mon., Jan. 24
• BGSU at Kent State – from Wed., Jan. 12 to Mon., Feb. 21
• Miami (OH) at BGSU – from Sat., Jan. 15 to Mon., Feb. 14
• BGSU is 15-6 in MAC regular-season games since the start of the 2020-21 season, including a 9-3 mark at the Stroh Center and a 6-3 record in conference road games.
• The Falcons will be looking to get back on track at the Stroh, as BGSU had won three-straight home games prior to the loss vs. Buffalo. BG is 4-2 at home, 0-2 on the road and 2-2 in neutral-site matchups. BG's only road games so far have been at #21/25 Ohio State in mid-November and Akron in the Falcons' last game (Jan. 8).
• Senior Kadie Hempfling is now among the top 30 players in career scoring in BGSU history. Hempfling moved from a tie for 33rd place to 30th on that list with 11 points at Akron. She now has 942 points in her Falcon career.
• The Buffalo game was Hempfling's 100th career start in a BGSU uniform. After coming off the bench to make her collegiate debut (at Michigan State; Nov. 6, 2018), Hempfling has started each of BGSU's 101 contests since that time. Hempfling is just the 14th player in school history to start at least 100 career games.
• Senior Madisen Parker has moved into sole possession of fourth place in BGSU history with 217 career three-pointers made. She moved past BGSU Hall-of-Famer Liz Honegger (216 from 2003-07) on the career list in the Akron game. Tracy Pontius (2007-11) sits in third place with 235 career triples made.
A QUICK LOOK AT THE CHIPPEWAS
• Central Michigan is 3-12 on the season, and the Chippewas are 1-5 in MAC play. CMU will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak, including a 75-65 loss against preseason conference favorite Ohio on Saturday afternoon. The Chippewas are 1-6 at home and 2-6 on the road this season to date.
• Molly Davis leads the team in scoring, with 18.7 points per game, and she also has a team-leading 5.1 assists per contest. Jahari Smith has 11.1 ppg and a CMU-best 10.9 rebounds per outing. Head coach Heather Oesterle welcomed back seven letterwinners, including two starters, from a 2020-21 club that went 18-9 overall and 13-6 in the MAC.
THE SERIES
• The Falcons lead Central Michigan, 48-23, in the all-time series, but CMU captured the most recent meeting. The Chippewas beat BGSU, 77-72, in the MAC Tournament's championship game in downtown Cleveland last March (March 13, 2021. The Falcons won last year's lone regular-season meeting, a 76-67 triumph at the Stroh Center (Feb. 17, 2021). BGSU is 26-17 in home games, 18-11 in road contests and 4-5 in neutral-site affairs vs. the Chippewas over the years.

DOWN THE ROAD
• Following the CMU game, the Falcons are slated to hit the road for two games in a three-day span. BGSU is slated to face Ohio on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 22) in a 3:30 start, before heading to Ypsilanti to meet Eastern Michigan on Monday (Jan. 24).
• That Ohio matchup will begin a stretch of four games in an eight-day span for the Falcons, and BGSU is scheduled to have several similar jam-packed weeks in the month of February as well.
