Taylor Schneider Named CCHA Forward of the Week

Senior forward recorded three goals and two assists in series sweep over LSSU
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Central Collegiate Hockey Association has recognized four student-athletes as its Players of the Week for the previous week of competition. Bowling Green's Taylor Schneider was named CCHA Forward of the Week after scoring five points in the series sweep of Lake Superior State. He scored two goals and notched an assist in the 7-4 win on Friday, then tallied another goal and assist in Saturday's 5-1 victory. This is Schneider's first career weekly honor.
CCHA Forward of the Week: Taylor Schneider, Senior, Bowling Green
Taylor Schneider led the Bowling Green Falcons to a road conference sweep, tallying five points against Lake Superior State. On Friday, the forward scored just 31 seconds into the game, then scored again in the final minute of the first period. He also assisted on Alex Barber's game-winning goal, which was scored in the first minute of the second period. This marked his second three-point game of the year. The following night, he recorded a power play goal and an assist. His power play goal came in the early parts of the third period, starting a three-goal spurt from the Falcons. It was his first power play goal of the season. His assist also came on the power play, earning the secondary helper on the game's opening goal. Schneider blocked four shots, the second-most on the team, and tied for the team lead with a plus/minus of +3.
Schneider has five goals and seven assists for 12 points this season, including a team-best two shorthanded goals. He also leads the Falcons in plus/minus at +4. He is the only player with multiple three-point games this season and leads the team with five multi-point efforts. The senior is the active NCAA leader in games played at 162 and has 38 goals and 57 assist for 95 career points. He is the sixth Falcon to earn a weekly award from the CCHA this season. Bowling Green has had a player recognized in each of the last four weeks of competition.
