Falcons Recognize Eight Seniors On Saturday Night

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (14-15-3, 11-12-1-2) fell to the Northern Michigan Wildcats (17-13-1, 11-12-1-3) by a score of 4-2 on Saturday night. The teams each scored early in the first period, then NMU took the lead with a second period goal. The Wildcats extended their lead with a shorthanded score, then BGSU responded with a power play goal. An empty net score from the Wildcats closed the scoring for the series.

Before the game, Bowling Green Hockey recognized seniors Alex Barber, Nathan Burke, Gabriel Chicoine, Sam Craggs, Evan Dougherty, Coale Norris, Taylor Schneider, and Trevor St-Jean.

"We competed really hard. We played much harder than we played last night. We did more good things, but again, it's the same stuff we've talked about before. It's really frustrating to watch us take those kinds of penalties when we have momentum."

Scoring Plays
- The Falcons scored the game's first goal just 77 seconds into skating. Alex Barber skated behind the net and found an open Adam Pitters in front of the net. The junior's shot hit twine and lit the lamp to give the Falcons an early lead. Barber and Coale Norris were credited with the assists.
- Northern Michigan tied the game less than a minute later, with Alex Frye scoring from the right side. Assists went to Connor Marritt and Jett Jungels.
- The Wildcats took the lead in the second period with a power play score. Alex Frye scored his second goal of the night on his second attempt, with the first being saved. Trevor Cosgrove and Bo Hanson earned the assists.
- In the third, NMU extended their lead with a shorthanded goal. Hampus Eriksson tallied the score for the Wildcats, with Andre Ghantous and Ben Newhouse notching assists.
- While the Falcons were still on the power play, Coale Norris scored to cut the deficit to one. Taylor Schneider wrapped the puck around the net to an open Norris, who knocked it in for his second point of the night. Schneider and Gabriel Chicoine earned the assists.
- The Wildcats scored an empty net goal after BGSU turned the puck over. Hank Crone tallied the goal with Vincent de Mey earning the assist.
- Adam Pitters scored his third goal of the year, giving him nine points. The junior has 16 career points, with four being goals. He has scored a point in Bowling Green's last three games.
- Alex Barber tallied his 14th assist of the season, giving him 24 points. The captain has 49 assists and 84 points in his BGSU career, leading active players in both categories.
- Norris notched his ninth goal and seventh assist of the year, giving him 16 points. It was his fourth multi-point performance of the season. The senior has 39 goals and 39 assists for 78 points in his collegiate career.
- Taylor Schneider earned his team-best 19th assist of the year, pushing his season point total to a team-high 27. The senior has 47 assists and 80 points in his career.
- Gabriel Chicoine's assist was his 18th of the year, the most among Falcon defensemen. The senior has 19 points this year and 73 in his collegiate career.
- Christian Stoever made 16 saves while spending 57:51 in goal.
