Falcon Facts
"This was another tough lesson for us. We started out well and scored the first goal of the game on the power play. Then had a defensive zone breakdown and we were tied 1-1 after one. The end of the second period was a key point. We had a power play and had some really good looks. Then we missed the net wide just as their guy was coming out of the box for a breakaway. Then we had another defensive zone mistake, and now we are down 3-1 after two periods. We need to come back tomorrow and be ready to play better."

Scoring Plays
- The Falcons capitalized on their first power play opportunity of the night, just before the halfway point of the first period. Taylor Schneider brought the puck above the left circle, then fed it to Alex Barber. The captain passed from the goal line to the right side of the crease, hitting an open Coale Norris who fired in the game's first goal. Barber and Schneider earned the assists.
- With less than five minutes remaining in the opening frame, Lake Superior State evened the score. Several Lakers took shots from the left of the crease, with Brandon Puricelli finally chipping one into the net. Assists were credited to Dawson Tritt and Harrison Roy.
- Late in the second, LSSU took the lead. With a BGSU power play winding down, a Falcon shot ended up in open ice. Logan Jenuwine exited the penalty box and capitalized on the breakaway opportunity, scoring an unassisted go-ahead goal.
- Less than a minute later, the Lakers added to the lead with another Jenuwine goal. Josh Nixon took the puck behind the net, then dumped it to Louis Boudon. He found Jenuwine open in front of the net, who went top-shelf for his second goal of the night. Boudon and Nixon were credited with the assists.
- Near the midpoint of the third, Jenuwine completed his hat trick with another score. The Lakers cleared the puck in the BGSU offensive zone and Jenuwine took advantage of another breakaway opportunity, firing a shot to the left side of the net. Assists went to Jake Willets and Miroslav Mucha.
- The Lakers closed the scoring with an empty net goal. With both teams losing a player to a five-minute major, Bowling Green pulled the goalie for a 5-on-4 advantage. Jacob Nordqvist cleared the puck along the boards, sending it over a pair of Falcons. Miroslav Mucha collected it and found an open Louis Boudon, who sent the puck into the empty net for the final goal of the game.
