The College Spring League, which began in the spring of 2019, consists of two groups of four teams. Each team will play the other three teams in the group, and all eight teams will converge upon Columbus on April 15, for the final matches.
BGSU is in the North Division, along with Cleveland State, Dayton and Michigan. The South Division includes Louisville, Marshall, Ohio State and Xavier
The Falcons will open the spring slate with a match against the University of Windsor on Friday, Feb. 17. That contest will take place in Rossford.
Then, BGSU begins the College Spring League schedule, heading to Cleveland to meet CSU on Sunday, March 5.
The Orange and Brown will return to Northwest Ohio for the next three matches. All three will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Cochrane Stadium.
That three-match home swing begins with a March 25 contest vs. Detroit Mercy. Then, the Falcons return to CSL play, facing Dayton (April 1) and Michigan (April 8), respectively, on the next two Saturdays.
On Saturday, April 15, all eight College Spring League schools will converge upon Columbus for a total of four matches at historic Crew Stadium. The coinciding seeds will face off, with the first-place team in the North Division playing the first-place team in the South Division, the second-place North team facing the second-place South team, etc.
Ohio State won the College Spring League crown in 2019 before it went on hiatus in 2020 (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) and 2021 (the fall 2020 season was moved to the spring of 2021). Last season, Marshall captured the crown, defeating BGSU in the final by a 2-1 score.
BGSU went 6-5-5 overall in the fall of 2022, and the Falcons finished MAC play with a 4-2-2 league ledger, finishing third in the Mid-American Conference. The Falcons will compete in the Missouri Valley Conference beginning in the fall of 2023.
The Falcons have a record of 42-25-12 over the last 79 games, dating to midway through the 2018 season. Sixteen of the 25 setbacks in that time have come by a single goal.
