BGSU v. Oakland, A History

The Falcons hold the slight edge with a 6-5 record against the Golden Grizzlies and have won the last three meetings. The series all-time has been one of runs. The Falcons won the first three meetings with the first taking place in 1998. However, Oakland was able to swing the success their way, winning five straight. The series momentum has come back to the Falcons now, winners in the last three meetings.
Defensive Mindset
Through the first two games of the season the Falcons are one of the top teams in the MAC for defense. BGSU has allowed 58.0 points per game, ranking second in the conference behind only Ball State (54.0) and tying for 36th in the nation. Gaining An Advantage On The Glass

After two games, BGSU is averaging a MAC-best 41 rebounds per game with Western Michigan and Ball State tying for second (38.0). The bulk of the rebounds for the Falcons have come on the defensive end, averaging 32.0 defensive rebounds per game. That mark is six more than second place Eastern Michigan's 26.0 and places BGSU in a tie for 46th in the nation for defensive rebounds per game.
Protect The Rock

The performance by the Orange and Brown brought their season average down to 9.5 turnovers per game, ranking third in the MAC and tied for 41st in the nation. Only Ohio (8.5) and Toledo (9.0) have better turnover averages.

Last season for Southern Utah, Spurgin recorded 63 blocks, coming in second for the WAC and leading the team.

Through the first two games of the season, Hill is averaging 22.0 points per game, leading not only the team but being second in the MAC and ranking 33rd in the nation. He tallied 18 in the season opener, followed by 26 against Arkansas State. On top of the high point totals, Hill has finished both games shooting 50% or better.

Rashaun Agee and DaJion Humphrey are both inside the top six for the MAC for field goal percentage, making Bowling Green the only team in the conference with multiple players in the top eight. Agee is currently second in the MAC, shooting 73.3% from the field, behind only Kent State's Cli'ron Hornbeak. Humphrey comes in at six, shooting 64.3% from the field, tied with Miami's (OH) Jaquel Morris.
