Falcons Host Ball State on Friday and Head to Michigan State for a Meet on Sunday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green gymnastics team returns to action twice this weekend, starting with its final home meet of the season on Friday when Ball State comes to Anderson Arena. The MACtion meet starts at 6 p.m. On Sunday, BGSU heads to Michigan State to take on the Spartans and Long Island University. That meet begins at 1 p.m. That meet will take place at the Jenison Field House.

• Admission for Friday's Meet is free. The concession stand will open at 5:30 p.m.

• Ball State is No. 30 according to Road to Nationals, while BGSU is No. 58.
• Michigan State is No. 13, while LIU is No. 47.
• Bowling Green is ranked No. 46 on vault, No. 54 on bars, No. 56 on beam and No. 60 on floor.
• Ball State is No. 26 on vault, No. 28 on beam, No. 37 on bars and No. 40 on floor.

ALL-TIME SERIES
• BGSU is 27-19 all-time against Ball State. BGSU win in 2022 in Muncie, Ind., snapped a five-meet losing streak to the Cardinals.
• The Falcons are 4-18 all-time against Michigan State. BGSU last met MSU in East Lansing last year, which was the first meeting since the Falcons won at Michigan State in 2018.
• Sunday is the first all-time meeting between BGSU and LIU.

BALL STATE
• Ball State is a perfect 4-0 in MAC meets and has not suffered a loss since placing third out of four teams at a Rutgers quad-meet on Jan. 14.
• BSU is coming off a narrow 196.100-196.075 win over Central Michigan this past Sunday.

MICHIGAN STATE
• Michigan State is coming off a road win at No. 24 Illinois (197.675-195.225) the last time out.
• MSU's last loss came at No. 17 Iowa on Feb. 11.

• LIU recently placed second out of three teams in a home meet this past Sunday with NC State and Temple.

• BGSU tied its season best on vault (48.925) and bars (48.850)
• Katrina Mendez Abolnik tied career highs on the vault (9.875) and floor (9.825) to pace the Falcons. Her vault score was the second-best tally in the meet.
• Taylor Jensen placed fourth in the all-around with a 39.200, which is her second-best mark this season.
