BGSU’s Fifth-Best Team Score in Program History Not Enough Against Ball State
March 03, 2023 | Gymnastics
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons had their best meet since 2018, but it wasn't enough to cool the red-hot Ball State Cardinals on Friday night at the famed Anderson Arena. Ball State outlasted BGSU, 196.375-196.000. Ball State has not lost a meet since Jan. 14.
The 196.000 was BGSU's fifth-best team score in program history and the best since a 2018 meet against NIU (196.475).
Megan Bingham shined on beam, tying for the BGSU program record with a 9.950. She matches Jovannah East in 2019 and two previous routines by Laura Mitchell. Kathryn Weilbacher won the all-around with a 39.425, which was a PR and tied for the third-best all-around score in program history. Weilbacher equaled East and Alyssa Nocella.

From the Locker Room
"I thought the team did a great job. I think we had a little adversity coming into this meet and they really stepped up and stuck together. They took it one routine at a time, and we had some fun out there. I am excited to see what we can do the rest of the season. The team performance tonight, Megan and Kathryn's performances particularly, showed what this team can do and how big our potential is. It is only up from here." – Kerrie Turner, BGSU gymnastics associate head coach
