Scouting Michigan
The Michigan Wolverines enter the weekend with a pair of wins under their belt, both coming via 3-0 scores. The first victory of the season came against Sacred Heart on a neutral floor before topping North Carolina in the Crisler Center. The match against the Falcons will mark their first inside Cliff Keen Arena this season after playing all of their previous home matches in the Crisler Center. On the attack, the Wolverines are paced by the trio of Jacque Boney, Kendall Murray and Amalia Simmons who have combined for 177 kills so far this season.
Entering the weekend, Bowling Green and Michigan have faced 15 times previously, including last season in Ann Arbor. The Falcons have picked up two wins all-time over the Wolverines with the last coming during the 1990 season. Both BGSU victories have been 3-0 finals. Friday will mark Michigan's sixth trip to Bowling Green, the first since 1989 with the 1988 match in BG going to the Orange and Brown.
BGSU v. Michigan Across The Athletic Department
On top of volleyball, the Falcons and Wolverines will meet across multiple sports during the 2023-24 season, including a football game the Saturday (Sept. 16) between the volleyball matches. BGSU previously hosted Michigan in men's soccer as well, topping the Wolverines 2-1 on Sept. 4. Both teams will also compete in the Silverston Invitational for indoor track and field on Feb. 16.
Falcons Against The Big Ten
The match against Michigan will be the second Big Ten opponent for Bowling Green this season after facing No. 14 Ohio State earlier this season, going five sets with the Buckeyes. The last win over a Big Ten opponent for the Falcons came against Indiana during the 2012 season, topping the Hoosiers on their floor, 3-1. As for Power 5 opponents, BGSU topped both Mississippi State and Tennessee last season.
Back-To-Back Triple-Doubles
