BGSU Hosts Illinois State on Sunday at the Stroh Center for the 2024 Season Opener

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green gymnastics team opens its 2024 season at home on Sunday against Illinois State. The event starts at 2 p.m. at the Stroh Center. The Falcons return 19 members from the 2023 squad and have added six new gymnasts to the roster.

ADMISSION AND ATTENDANCE GUIDELINES
• Admission for Sunday's meet is $5. Gates open at 1 p.m.
• The concession stand will open at 1 p.m.
• All parking lots surrounding the Stroh Center are free of charge.
• All bags will be checked upon entrance into the Stroh Center. No outside food or drink will be allowed.
IN THE RANKINGS
• Illinois State finished 2023 ranked No. 52 according to Road to Nationals, while BGSU finished No. 50.
• Bowling Green finished 2023 ranked No. 42 on beam, No. 46 on vault, No. 54 on bars and No. 55 on floor.
• Illinois State finished No. 33 on vault, No. 35 on floor, No. 53 on bars and No. 60 on beam.
ALL-TIME SERIES
• BGSU is 15-10 all-time against Illinois State. ISU has won the last three meetings against the Falcons with Bowling Green's last win coming in 2020 at Anderson Arena.
ILLINOIS STATE
• Illinois State is coming off a Midwest Independent Conference (MIC) championship and a 10-10 overall record in 2023.
• ISU assistant coach Megan Harrington is a 2014 graduate of Bowling Green State University.
CHANGES FOR 2024
• All BGSU regular season meets will take place at the Stroh Center, starting with the season opener on Jan. 7 vs. Illinois State. BGSU also hosts NIU on Jan. 13, Central Michigan and Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Feb. 4, and Eastern Michigan, West Virginia and Fisk on Feb. 11.
• Gymnastics home meets at the Stroh Center are ticketed events. Fans can buy season tickets for $15 or single-meet tickets for $5.
