Sprinters and Jumpers Open Hearltand Invite with Solid Performances

INDIANAPOLIS – Bowling Green's sprinters and jumpers opened the Heartland Invitational with a series of strong finishes Friday, highlighted by a personal record in the 400m.
Kiersten Franklin paced the Falcons in the 60m, placing fourth in 7.51 seconds. Kiera Bonds added a ninth-place finish in 7.62.
In the 60m hurdles, Morgan Patterson secured a fourth-place finish in 8.54. DaMya Barker (8.77) and Christabelle Obi (8.80) also turned in solid races for Bowling Green.
The Falcons showed depth in the 400m. Reagan Campbell led the group with a time of 57.01, while Tyyetta Herman posted a personal record for the second consecutive week, clocking 57.19. Syerra Greber followed in 57.92, with Alexsia Davis finishing in 58.90.
Bonds added points in the field, placing fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.85m.
Competition resumes Saturday at 9:45 a.m. in Indianapolis.
