Three Falcons Qualify for Finals, Tomasheski Reaches Podium in Javelin

MUNCIE, Ind. β On the first day of the 2026 MAC Outdoor Championships, three Falcons qualified for Saturday's finals and Lily Tomasheski achieved a podium finish.
The MAC Outdoor Championships began Thursday morning with the hammer throw. There, Grace Bradtmueller (49.33m), Karma Williams (46.29m) and Sierra Podolan (45.41m) each achieved new personal records.
Simultaneously, Jenna Lucas started competing in the heptathlon. Lucas reached a 15.20 finish in the 100-meter hurdles, leapt to 1.58m in the high jump and raced to a 27.02 in the 200 meters. The highlight of the morning came when the senior won the shot put with a 13.36m throw. Through the first day, she accumulated 2,946 points and sits in eighth place.
That evening, Lily Tomasheski reached the podium in the javelin with a seventh-place finish (40.14m). Liz Wilson made her MAC Outdoor debut with a 32.41m mark as Lucas also notched a 32.28m throw.
After the national anthem, all attention focused on the track. There, Rachael Hoover (4:26.05) and Kylee Cubbison (4:29.10) qualified in the 1,500 meters, while Kiersten Franklin (24.06) qualified in the 200-meter dash. Christabelle Obi and Alexsia Davis finished with a 1:02.29 and 1:05.25 race in the 400-meter hurdles, respectively.
The night ended with the 10,000 meters, the longest event at the Championships. In that event, Regina Rose fought to a ninth-place, 35:12.22 finish.
At the end of the first day, BGSU is tied for 10th with two points.
Bowling Green will return to Briner Sports Complex on Friday, May 15, at 12:30 p.m. with the heptathlon long jump.
