He played junior hockey in Quebec with the Sorel Black Hawks and Hull Olympiques before embarking on a professional career. St. Jean played professionally with the IHL[apos]s Flint Generals and the Salem Raiders and Nashville South Stars of the ACHL.
He continued his playing career overseas spending the 1984-85 and 1985-86 campaigns in Paris, France with Asniere where he served as a player-coach and also as the Director of the Youth Hockey Program.
Following his playing career, St. Jean then scouted for Longueuil of the QMJHL. After one year as an assistant coach and scout with the Saginaw Generals of the IHL, he became an assistant coach and scout with the Cincinnati Cyclones, a position he held for four years. He continued his coaching experience with the University of Findlay, where he served two years as an assistant coach.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, St. Jean and his wife, Michelle, are the parents of four children, Brandon (13), Stephanie (9), Kyle (7) and Trevor (4). They have resided in Findlay, Ohio, for the past 16 years.
