Moment No. 5 Of 2014-15: Michael Huger Named Men's Basketball Coach

For the sixth year in a row, BGSU Athletics will be counting down the top stories of the year leading into the beginning of the fall athletics season. The 2014-15 season was a fantastic year with many triumphs and we get to celebrate those during our summer countdown.

We will release the list one at a time throughout the summer until the No. 1 story of the year is announced on Aug. 7 -- just as #FalconFast BGSU football camp gets underway and the 2015-16 season has officially started! Today we reveal the No. 5 moment from 2014-15.

Alumnus Huger Named Men's Basketball Coach
Bowling Green State University tabbed one of its own to take over the reins of the men's basketball program as 1994 BGSU graduate Michael Huger was named the 17th head men's basketball coach on April 17, 2015. Huger, who returns to his alma mater where he was a standout player for the Falcons from 1989-93, most recently wrapped up his fourth season at the University of Miami and his eighth season as an assistant coach for head coach Jim Larranaga, whom he played for at BGSU. Overall, Huger brings 10 seasons of collegiate coaching experience and nearly a dozen years of professional basketball experience with him back to Bowling Green.
