Jill Conover scored two goals, and junior Janice Mentrup's goal early in the second half proved to be the match-winner as the Falcons downed the two-time defending MAC Tournament champions.

The Falcons drew first blood on a Conover goal just one minute into the first half. Michelle Lisy assisted on the play. After the Huskies' Renay DeNicolo equalized at 14:46, Conover scored again at the 38:40 mark. Mentrup assisted on Conover's goal, her fifth of the season.

NIU's Beth Johnson tied the score again at the 41:38 mark, and the teams went to halftime deadlocked at 2-2. Mentrup's unassisted goal with just 5:50 gone in the second half completed the scoring.

The Huskies outshot the Falcons, 22-17, including a 10-8 edge in shots on goal, but NIU could not solve BG 'keeper Erika Flanders over the final 39:10. Flanders made eight saves as the Falcons won for the third-straight outing.
