BG Baseball Tabbed For Second In MAC East Division

Cleveland, OH - Two-time defending Mid-American Conference tournament champion Bowling Green received seven of a possible 12 first-place votes but were edged by the Miami RedHawks, 63-62, for the top spot in the East Division.
The MAC Preseason baseball polls were released today by the conference office following voting by the league's head coaches.
BG also received three votes for tournament winner, while Ball State, who received all 12 West Division First-Place votes, was named the tournament winner on seven ballots. Miami garnered the remaining two tournament winner votes.
The Falcons won the 1999 MAC East Division with a 22-10 mark, and claimed the tournament title with an extra-inning triumph over Miami.
