Falcons Finish 2-1 at Boise Invitational

Boise, Idaho - After starting off the Boise Invitational with a four-set loss to Boise State on Friday, the Falcons finished strong with wins over Portland on Saturday afternoon in five sets, and Utah Valley State College in four sets Saturday night.
Bowling Green (2-1) opened the match with a first-set loss, 25-30, but captured the final three sets 30-23, 30-24 and 32-30.
Junior Taylor Twite continued her hot tournament with a 20-kill effort against Utah Valley State. To go along with those 20 kills was a .444 hitting percentage as well as a solo block. For the three-match tournament Twite had 56 kills and only 11 errors.
Senior Samantha Rennau had 17 kills in the Saturday night match, as well as, eight digs. For their efforts, Rennau and Twite were named to the all-tournament team.
Senior Nadia Bedricky had her best performance of the weekend with 11 kills and seven digs, to go with two block-assists and a .278 hitting percentage.
Handing out the kills was junior setter Amber Mareski who posted 47 assists.
Up next for the Falcons is a trip to Peoria, Ill., where they will compete in the Bradley Invitational on September 5 and 6.
