Three Falcons Ranked by NHL Central Scouting Bureau

The National Hockey League Central Scouting Bureau released on Tuesday its preliminary rankings of NCAA skaters, which included Bowling Green sophomores Jonathan Sigalet and James Unger, and freshman Jonathan Matsumoto. BGSU and defending national champion Denver have the most skaters on the list of 30 with three apiece.
Sigalet was ranked third on the list. He was named to the 2004 CCHA All-Rookie Team honorable mention, leading the Falcons in power-play points (1-10--11) and all Falcon freshmen in points (15) and assists (12). This year he has four assists in eight games, including a career-high three helpers on Saturday at Nebraska-Omaha.
Matsumoto was ranked 11th on the list. He was just named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week for the second time this season on Nov. 15. He leads the Falcons with six goals and 10 points in eight games this season. His five power-play goals rank him tied for second in the CCHA and tied for fifth nationally. He is is tied for third nationally for points-per-game by a rookie (1.25 pg.).
Unger was ranked 30th on the list. He tied for first among freshmen in goals (6) and tied for second among freshmen in scoring (6-7--13) in 37 games last year. This season, he is second on the team in points (8) and leads the Falcons with six assists in eight games. He registered a career-high 1-3--4 in Saturday's win at Nebraska-Omaha.
BGSU is 5-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the CCHA. The Falcons travel to Wayne State on Thursday, Nov. 18, then host WSU on Saturday at 5:05 p.m. in the BGSU Ice Arena.
