...on shooting the ball so well as a team "We're playing more as a team than last year. Everybody is looking for everybody. Everyone screens and then whoever gets open gets the ball."
"I think we knew we had a chance to be good but we're just going to take one game at a time and stay focused over Christmas break and go hard when we come back."
"We were getting a lot of easy baskets. Guys were giving up the ball for layups. We were running, getting easy shots and making them."
"Coach has stressed all week in practice about everyone contributing. It doesn't matter if you're in there for two minutes or 20 minutes, go in there and get something done."
"Coming into the season there were a lot of question marks. But we knew in our own hearts that we were going to be real competitive and we've continued to have that chip on our shoulder of being under .500 last year. We basically go into every game and feel that we have to prove ourselves. We're 6-1 right now but based on what we did last year, we're 14-17 and we're still trying to prove ourselves every night out."
"We have a lot of confidence right now. We have confidence but we don't let up either. We go hard in practice and we know that have to come out hard every game. One of our biggest emphasis is the first five minutes, coming out and building a lead."
BGSU Coach Dan Dakich
"I thought obviously the key was how well we shot the ball. Our second team really had us ready to play today. As we went through practice for the eight days, we had Moon and Eyink and Lefeld and Austin and Mawel and Scott really got our team ready. The second half of these games are kind of tough to play but the game before Christmas you just want to win and get the heck home. Get these kids home."
...on the Falcons hot shooting (22-25 FG start)
"I've never seen that. We work a lot on shooting but 22- 25...you'll be in sports a long time before you see something like that."
"We work really hard on shooting and sometimes it pays off...sometimes it doesn't."
"We'll take 6-1, 12-2, 18-3, 24-4. I personally look back on our game with DePaul and ask why we played the second half like we did. It is really the only half of a close game that we didn't play. But I'm not an idiot you'll take 6-1 standing on your head everyday and hopefully we'll go 6-1 in the next seven."
