BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Head Coach Denise Van De Walle and the Falcon Volleyball program have announced two signees for the 2006 season. Shari Luther (Colgate, Wisconsin) and Corey Domek (Naperville, Illinois) will be the two newest members of the Falcon Volleyball program beginning next season.
"Shari and Corey are outstanding young people. They have exactly what we were looking for. They will bring the type of athleticism and academic commitment we want here at BG. It's a great 2006 class," said Coach Van De Walle.
Luther is a 6'2" middle from Wisconsin and led Germantown High School to a 34-6 record while being named to the First Team All-State. Luther also plays club for Milwaukee Sting who were the 2004 Junior Olympic National Champion in 16 Open. She excels academically as well, carrying a 3.98 GPA.
"We're really excited to have Shari join our program. She will bring good size and experience to the team right away. She comes from a great high school and club program. One of the things we liked about Shari from the start is the fact that she always does a lot for her team and makes very few errors."
Corey Domek is a 5'11" left side hitter from Naperville North High School. She plays for Sports Performance Volleyball Club out of Chicago, finishing with a 25-12 record. Domek performs well in the classroom as well, holding a 3.85 GPA.
"Corey comes from one of the best volleyball clubs in the country. She will bring a lot of power to our left side position. She's a really strong hitter with a dynamic jump serve. The fact that she has played both middle and left will be an asset to us."
