Falcons Place 10th At MAC Championships

ATHENS, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University track and field team finished the 2005 MAC Outdoor Championships with a tenth place finish with 32 points in Athens, Ohio. Kent State captured the meet with 129 points, followed by Akron (122) and Eastern Michigan (118).
On the final day of competition several Falcons recorded points at the meet. Sophomores Veronica Vance and Erica Wilson each scored points for BGSU in the jumps. Vance finished sixth in the triple jump with a season-best 40-00.75, while Wilson placed eighth in the high jump with a mark of 5-05.
Freshman Jamie Roflow continued her impressive Outdoor Championships with a seventh-place finish in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:16.37. On Saturday the distance runner placed fourth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Nicole Standback, Jessica White, Valerie Holland and Amber Walker placed fifth with a time of 46.97.
Whie and Walker teamed up with sophomore Lyndi Springer and senior Melissa Krueger in the 4x400 meter relay to place eighth with a time of 3:52.77.
The final Falcon to record points was another freshman. This time, Whitney Hartman posted three points for the Orange and Brown, finishing sixth in the discus with a mark of 147-01.
Up next for BGSU will be Regionals where a selected few will compete based on qualifying marks and times throughout the season.
