Amherst, N.Y. - The following are post game notes after the conclusion of Buffalo's 81-67 victory over BGSU on Sunday.
Team Notes
The Falcons still lead the series 10-3.
BGSU is now assured of opening the MAC Tournament on the road on March 6th as the 9th or 10th seed. Possible opponents include Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Ohio, Toledo or Buffalo.
With nine three-point field goals made, BGSU has tied its school record of 204 in a season set by the 1996-97 squad.
The Falcons have led in every MAC game this season and held a 21-14 advantage with 10:30 left in the first half.
Buffalo made just one of 11 three-pointers which were tied season lows for a Falcon opponent this season.
Player Notes
Junior Martin Samarco led the Falcons with 23 points. It was the 17th time this season he has led BGSU in scoring. He also tied a career-high with seven three point field goals made and has set a new BGSU record with 94 in a season (92, Keith McLeod, 2001-02). In MAC play, he has connected on 62 of 123 three-pointers (50.4%) and leads the league overall by hitting 45.6% of his long distance shots.

Junior John Floyd had 15 points, matching his average for the last seven games. He also added five assists and established a new career-high with five steals. His seven three-point field goal attempts also tied a career-most. In the last 11 games, he is averaging 13.3 points per game.
Senior Mawel Soler had 11 points, his second straight double-figure scoring effort. He is shooting a team-best 64.0% from the field and has hit 46.9% of his three-point field goal attempts.
