BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Sophomore Alex Foster is set to sign a contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday, and will forego his final two years of college eligibility at Bowling Green State University. Foster, who led the team with 51 points, was the first Falcon to score 50-plus in a season since Dan Price record 53 in the 1998-99 season.

This season Foster was one of only five players in the country to score 50-plus points heading into last weekends playoff series with Nebraska-Omaha and was tied for the nation's lead with 40 assists. He scored at least one point in 30 of 38 games this season and had 15 multiple point contests. He was named the UConn Classic Tournament MVP after recording a tournament-high four points (2g, 2a) in wins over UMass and UConn. He was also named CCHA Offensive Player of the Month in November after scoring 18 points (4g, 14a) in just eight games.
"Alex has been a tremendous player for us the last two years," said BGSU head coach Scott Paluch. "He is a major loss to our program, but it is great to see Alex continue his dream. We wish him nothing but the best."
In two seasons the forward posted 82 points (19g, 63a) in just 72 games. He scored at least one point in 48 of 72 contests and had 25 multiple point games in his career.
