Swimming Falcons Dive into 2007 Against Zips

The Falcons will begin the second half of their MAC schedule on the road in Akron against the University of Akron Zips on Saturday. The squad ended 2006 on a high note after finishing seventh in the Ohio State Invitational amongst 14 competing teams from five competing conferences.
SOUTING THE ZIPS (1/13)
To date, Akron has produced a 5-4 overall record while going 1-3 in conference competition...the Zips are undefeated in Ocasek Natatorium during the 2006-07 season...similarly to the Falcons, the Zips have not competed since the weekend of December 1-3...in their last outing, Akron won the SummaCare Invitational beating nine other squads...the last time the teams competed, they swam to a stalemate for the Falcons only tie last season.
ZIPS AND THE MAC
The Zips opened the MAC season with two losses against Miami and Ball State before taking the win over Buffalo...in their last MAC session, they dropped the meet at Ohio University...the Zips have not faced conference competition since November 19.
FALCON NOTES
In their last session in the pool, three Falcons set new PR's as the Falcons saw to a seventh place finish in the OSU Invitational ...Alisha Yee led the Falcons' effort with three top ten finishes in individual event competition...five additional swimmers finished in top ten fashion...as a squad, the Falcons scored at least one relay team in every top ten with the highest finish of sixth place overall in the 200 medley... one additional 200 medley foursome took ninth place.
