BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Swimming and Diving program will travel to Oxford, Ohio on Friday (Jan. 26) to compete against Miami in their last conference meet before the Mid-American Conference Championships. Currently, Miami is ranked No. 3 in the Division I Mid-Major poll by collegeswimming.com.
SCOUTING THE No. 3 REDHAWKS (1/26)
The Miami RedHawks enter the meet with a streak of 45-straight MAC dual meet wins ... MU beat Ohio 148.5-92.5 after taking wins in 10-of-13 events ... all 10 wins came in the swimming events ... the MU RedHawks are beating MAC opponents by an average of 77.8 points ... their highest margin of victory was 95 points over Buffalo.
FALCON NOTES
Bowling Green won 11-of-16 events in their victory over Buffalo at Cooper Pool on Jan. 20 ... sophomore Alisha Yee won each of the four events she competed in ... Yee had three solo wins and one relay victory ... six separate Falcons won at least one individual event at the MAC dual meet ... 10 Falcons on the active roster have won at least one individual race during the MAC competition season ... all three freshmen have at least one win in their first year of competition.
LOOKING AHEAD TO THE MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2007 Mid-American Conference championships will be held February 14-17 in Ypsilanti, Mich. on the campus of Eastern Michigan University ... each day, the swimming preliminary events will begin at 11:00 a.m., while the diving preliminary events will start at 2:00 p.m. ... all final competition will commence at 5:00 p.m. ...daily results will be posted following the final event competition on bgsufalcons.com ... last year the Falcons finished in 4th overall.
