Falcons Strong in Final Outing Before MAC Championships

TOLEDO, Ohio - The women's track team had their final meet of the year at the 23rd Toledo Invitational before heading to the MAC Championships next week. The outing was strong, as several Falcons walked away with top-six finishes.
The throwing Falcons were on fire Friday. They went 1-2-3 in the discus. Liz Honegger claimed the top spot with a throw of 148-07. She was followed by Lauren Bryant, going 147-02. Paris Bussey wrapped it up in third, throwing 134-10.
TaKarra Dunning led the Falcons in the shot put. She won the event, throwing 49-07.25. Bussey finished in third with a career outdoor-best 45-02.50. Honegger finished right behind in fourth, throwing 43-06.50.
Bryant was the top Falcon in the hammer throw. She finished second, going a career-best 154-07. Dunning finished fourth, going 148-07.
Andi Bunko was the winner in the javelin, with a throw of 137-05. Kylie Korsnack followed in third, going 118-11.
In the jumps, Amanda Sefcik led the Falcons, finishing fourth in the long jump, going 18-06.00.
Sabrina Forstein tied for sixth in the pole vault, jumping 9-06.25.
In the 100-meter dash, Jessica White was victorious, going 11.89 seconds. In the 100-meter hurdles, it was Nicole Standback who led the way for the Falcons. She finished third in a time of 14.59 seconds.
Yemoja Marotta finished third in the 400-meter with a time of 57.60 seconds. She also finished fifth in the 200-meter with a time of 26.07 seconds.
The Falcons will travel to Oxford, Ohio, to compete in the 2007 Outdoor MAC Track and Field Championships next Thursday through Saturday, May 10-12.
